Emma and Sean-Paul's story started when they were still very young, a journey that began with a meeting through mutual friends when they were all of 17 years old. Sean-Paul was so smitten with Emma from the first moment their paths crossed but, as it does, life got in the way at that stage. When things are meant to be they find a way of happening and in this case it found its way. Time passed and life happened but like the classic love stories of Hollywood they eventually connected at a junction in their lives and on the 24th June 2017 at the Portsea Hotel these two beautiful people declared their love for each other and their commitment to the little family they have lovingly created with Sophie, Makayla and Xavier in front of their friends and family.
The day started off a little shaky in terms of the weather. Clouds and rain were threatening to put a dampener on the nuptials but just before I met with the bride the sun had come out to play and the day went onto be just perfect (and cold).
The Portsea Hotel was the perfect backdrop for these two lovebirds. A stunning sunset, the beach and then a nice warm fire in the lobby to keep the chill away, how more romantic could it get? It couldn't and it suited these two and their story perfectly.
The day flew by so fast, as all the best times of our lives do, but the special moments that I will hold onto and reflect upon with warmth in my heart for years to come were the individual reactions of the bride and groom when they were reading their cards to one another, the look in Sean's eyes when he saw Emma for the first time walking down the aisle surrounded by loved ones on both sides, Emma's smile when she got to see Sean waiting for her at the end by the alter, and the look in the bride's eye when she got to surprise her new husband, and also birthday boy (what a way to bring in your 30th year Sean!), with her singing to him with her talented dad as back up.
Sometimes I get asked why I do or want to do wedding photography. It is days like Emma and Sean-Pauls wedding that make the answer easy. Seeing the love between two people who are clearly meant to be together and capturing that special moment where everything is about their love. Being the lucky one who can provide them amazing memories of their day as well as the fact I get to meet beautiful people and get to know them whilst learning their story. The newly married Mr and Mrs Cairns are no exception. It was my absolute honour to give you guys these memories.
