As winter is coming...

The summer weather is cooling off and as we head into grabbing our jackets and scarves I thought I would start blogging some more so you can keep up with me and also gain some tips for photo sessions with your families or maternity sessions as you are waiting for your first or fourth child to come into this world.

The past few months have seen birthdays, engagements, engagement parties, family portrait sessions...so many amazing new memories for my special families to treasure. It is an amazing feeling know that not only do the families have these amazing memories to keep forever but they entrusted me in taking them.

A photographers job is so hard when you think about it. They have to capture all the important moments and even the less important ones. And if you miss an important moment throughout any day, the guilt that comes with it.

I wanted to use this post to point out even though the summer months are ending it does not mean that it is the end of great photos.

Overcast skies are a photographers best friend. The sun does not need to be out (and even better when it is not, not squinty eyes). Wearing bright colours on your shoot will just add so much colour to brighten up a dull weather day. And rain is definitely not the enemy. Imagine some photos under the brollies....or your kids splashing into puddles.

All you need for family photos is some smiles, some laughs, semi matching outfits and you are done. The rest we can work with.

Royal Memories has a few busy weeks ahead before the down time happens. Weddings, family and maternity sessions are coming up so please keep an eye out.
